Tracing the Red Footsteps
Reflecting on Our Original Aspiration and Mission
“Stay true to our original aspiration, make the most of our youthful years, and forge ahead with unwavering dedication.”
A Record of the Red Journey in Eastern Zhejiang
In early winter, the forests are ablaze with color. On November 22, to deepen Party‑history study and education, reaffirm our original aspirations and mission, and inspire a spirit of dedication, the Party branch of Jiangsu Huafu Electronics, in collaboration with the company’s trade union, organized a red‑themed educational activity titled “Stay True to Our Original Aspiration, Live Up to Our Youth, and Press Forward Without Slack.” The group traveled to Yuyao, Ningbo, embarking on a spiritual journey to trace revolutionary memories and appreciate cultural heritage.
First Stop: The Majestic Siming Mountains, the Cradle of Our Original Aspirations — A Vivid “Open-Air Party Lesson”
As the vehicle wound its way along the mountain road, the Siming Mountains outside the window took on an especially majestic beauty, adorned in the early winter hues. After a three-hour drive, we arrived at Hengkantou Village in Liangnong Town, Yuyao—known as the “Yan’an of Eastern Zhejiang.” Nestled amidst towering peaks and shaded by emerald bamboo, this village is also the very “heart” of the Eastern Zhejiang Anti-Japanese Base Area.

At the former site of the Eastern Zhejiang District Party Committee, we were deeply honored to have the village elder of Hengkantou Village serve as our special guide. Reflecting on the past and looking to the present, the elder spoke with heartfelt sincerity—far from reciting a prepared script, he shared, in the plainest of local dialects, the true stories that unfolded on this very land. He recounted how, back then, his father’s generation sustained the troops “with a handful of fried noodles and a handful of snow,” how they risked their lives to pass on intelligence, and how, within these humble quarters, they kept the spark of the revolution alive.

The mottled walls and humble furnishings seem to come alive through the old village chief’s heartfelt recollections, rendering those years of “a generation’s arduous struggle” strikingly vivid and real. We can almost picture the nights lit by bright lamps and hear the resolute, spirited debates. This was more than just a visit; it was a vivid “open-air Party lesson,” helping us deeply appreciate that the hard-won victory of the revolution was rooted in the people and born of the extraordinary dedication of countless ordinary individuals.

Afterward, we visited the Memorial Hall of the Eastern Zhejiang Revolutionary Base Area. Within its walls, one precious revolutionary artifact after another, vivid historical photographs, and moving accounts of heroic deeds collectively paint a comprehensive picture of the Eastern Zhejiang Revolution’s grand and tumultuous struggle. This was more than just a visit—it was a dialogue with history, a profound cleansing of the soul.

Revolutionary Base Memorial Hall

Within the red historic site, we renew our pledge to “never forget our original aspiration.” The old village chief’s account has deepened our understanding that “the people are the creators of history.” As we move forward, we must never forget the path we have traveled or the reasons that set us on this journey. The original aspiration of our revolutionary forebears—to strive for the happiness of the people and the rejuvenation of the nation—remains the fundamental driving force that propels us onward.

Stop Two: Tianyi Bookstore, Passing Down the Cultural Heritage
After lunch, we left behind the fiery years of revolution and stepped into the vast ocean of culture, arriving at Tianyi Pavilion—the oldest extant private library in China.

Strolling through the quaint, tranquil gardens, one can almost taste the centuries‑old fragrance of books and ink in every breath. We are moved by the Fan family’s steadfast dedication to safeguarding their cultural heritage across generations, and deeply awed by the unbroken continuity of China’s literary tradition. From the ravages of war to the serene glow of calligraphy and scholarship, this is a profound transition from “the barrel of a gun” to “the tip of the brush,” together forging the indomitable spiritual core of the Chinese nation.
Stepping into the Tianyi Pavilion, one feels as though time itself has settled here. The blue bricks and dark-tiled roofs gleam with a gentle sheen in the winter sun, while the towering ancient trees, though stripped of their leaves, seem all the more resolute and dignified. We followed our guide, listening to the moving tale of how the Fan family preserved its cultural heritage over thirteen generations. “The survival of this library to this day is due to the unwavering dedication of countless generations,” the guide said, pointing to the sign that reads, “No smoking or drinking allowed on the premises.” “These strict family rules reflect a profound reverence for culture.”
We particularly noted that, under the warm winter sun, the fire‑fighting pond at Tianyi Pavilion shimmered with rippling light, while its sophisticated drainage system bears witness to the ingenuity of our ancestors. This resonates deeply with the revolutionary spirit we observed in Hengkantou Village—whether it is the preservation of culture or the pursuit of a revolutionary cause, both demand wisdom and steadfastness, as well as a spirit of selfless dedication passed down from generation to generation.

Though this red‑heritage journey was brief, the spiritual nourishment it bestowed upon us will continue to shape us for years to come. From the cradle of revolution in the Siming Mountains to the cultural treasure trove along the banks of Yue Lake, we undertook a dual pilgrimage—of body and spirit. We drew strength from the heartfelt stories of the village elder and found solace in the quiet solemnity of the century‑old library, where steadfastness takes root. On this early winter day, we not only revisited the annals of revolutionary history and reflected on the legacy of culture, but also underwent a profound inner cleansing, deep within our hearts.
Let us transform this red heritage, cultural confidence, and spirit of striving into a powerful driving force for our work. On this new journey, we will steadfastly uphold the oath to “never forget our original aspiration,” sustain the passion to “make the most of our youthful years,” and remain committed to “perseverance and tireless effort.” With even greater determination and vigor, let us jointly write a new chapter in the company’s high‑quality development!
Let us carry this winter’s harvest with us as we set out once again on a new journey!
